About
The excitement has been building at the Belvedere and Erith Congregational Church as the construction of their soft play area has taken shape. It has been the culmination of six months of planning and fundraising by the church to augment the work its Picardy playgroup’s work does.
The soft play will operate on a no charge basis to the community. “It’s a gift to the community” said Rev Mark Evans “it’s about putting into the community more than we expect back”
It will also operate as a kids club three afternoons a week to provide for the needs of the children in the local community to be able to play in a safe environment. There is a kitchen which they plan to serve healthy food and provide a space for parents to sit and enjoy friendships over a cuppa.
Mark also believes this could create an opportunity to develop a fresh expression of church by offering a separate time of praise and worship (toddler style!) to those who come along. A real Noah’s Ark time!
This whole venture was made possible by the generous donations from community trusts from around the Bexley area and the Noah’s Ark group are really appreciative of that support.
